The Daughters of the King was founded on January 14, 2014, by a group of Christian women residing in the Franklin area. Since its launch in 2014, other communities in Columbia and Spring Hill, TN have united with our organization. D.O.T.K. is a Christ-centered Nonprofit Organization where ministers articulate efforts driven to highlight the love of Christ and facilitate a positive change in the lives of others.
Our goals include winning the hearts of women and children to Christ, and empowering and transforming the lives of women and children through Biblical teaching and application. On February 4, 2014; ” DOTK ” implemented Bible study sessions for women, teens, and children.
During the summer of 2014, DOTK recognized the need for a supplemental feeding program to assist families with the rising cost of food and the demand for feeding their children during the summer school break. Feed My Lambs was initiated with the idea of merely feeding school-age children. However, DOTK expanded its reach by offering free lunch or dinner plates to not only school-age children but to adults residing within the Franklin and Williamson County areas. By the end of the Summer of 2014; DOTK was serving an average of 270 plates per week. To continue efforts against food insecurity, on October 9, 2014, a “new initiative” of a seasonal feeding program started.
DOTK remains committed and continues to strive to fulfill its mission: Lead women and children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and encourage the transformation of mind, body, and soul through the implementation of Biblical principles and applications
Transforming the mind, body, and soul is key to changing the well-being of women and children across the nation. Many women and children live in spiritual, physical, and mental poverty due to situations and circumstances. Spiritual fitness, physical fitness, and mental fitness are crucial to overcoming. Therefore D.O.T.K. serves with a commitment to encourage the transformation of mind, body, and soul through Feed My Lambs– an outreach effort designed to distribute free lunch/dinner plates during the summer, fall, and winter months in order to combat hunger in the local community; Back to School Backpack Extravaganza– a community event held yearly with an aim to celebrate and inspire students with a positive message prior to returning to school, provide a means of visible support, distribute free backpacks with school supplies along with free hygiene kits.
D.O.T.K.’s mission is to continue expanding our reach to serve a greater number of the surrounding Williamson County communities.
